# NZ Long Term Car Hire

NZ Long Term Car Hire rents well-maintained used vehicles (typically 2005–2018 models) on weekly, monthly, and multi-month terms to people who need a car for longer than a typical tourist rental — new migrants, working holidaymakers, contractors, students, and locals between vehicles. Pricing is a fixed weekly rate that drops the longer the term: from $147/week weekly, $133/week on a monthly term, and $105/week on 3+ month terms. Vehicle classes range from entry-level 5-seat hatchbacks (from $105/week) through medium hatchbacks and sedans (from $119/week) to station wagons and 7-seaters (from $161/week).

The hire process is four steps: get a quote, accept plain-English terms, pay a refundable bond online, then collect the vehicle or arrange delivery for a fee. Requirements are a current full driver licence (overseas licences accepted), photo ID, and a payment method. Routine servicing, maintenance, and roadside assistance are included for the duration of the hire, along with free vehicle swaps and no hidden fees. Cancellation forfeits 100% of the deposit at 1–7 days' notice, 50% at 8–29 days, and nothing at 30+ days; a peak-season surcharge applies 1 December – 31 March.

Service coverage spans 16 regions across both islands, including Whangārei, Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupō, Napier, Palmerston North, Wellington, Picton, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
